Welcome!
The Harvard College Writers' Workshop is a creative writing organization for undergraduate student writers of all types, genres, and levels of experience. We aim to foster an inclusive, constructive, and fun community where writers can share their work and develop their writing through critical feedback. This Week in the Workshop
Fiction Lab
Saturday, February 13th 1:00pm - 2:00pm (Robinson 105)
We're bringing back an old HCWW tradition: craft labs! Expect to see a few more fiction and poetry labs over the course of the semester, with each one-hour session focusing on a different element or technique of writing. This session's topic is characterization, and we'll be learning about ways to craft believable, well-rounded characters and doing some fun exercises. Get ready to learn unexpected things about your characters and about people around you!
Writing Families
Thank you to everyone who's already signed up for writing families! We're still looking for a few more writing family sign-ups, especially poets! If you are interested in getting together with other poetry lovers in causal meetings throughout the semester, please sign up here as soon as possible. We expect to get back to you about writing family assignments by the end of this week.
The Workshop
Sunday, February 14th, 1:00pm - 2:00pm (Lowell Coolidge Room)
The Workshop is a space of focused discussion about your writing that takes place every week and is open to everyone, moderated by a member of the Board. Every week, we'll be handing out a piece written by a student there to read in depth, offering comments, insights, and critiques. The Workshop is the perfect place to discuss and hone your craft, getting feedback and taking a close look at other people's writing. While the Workshop is always open to everyone, we strongly encourage you to come consistently so that all writers receive equal attention.
